Situated right on the shores of the Dornoch Firth

This small caravan site situated right on the shores of the Dornoch Firth on the East coast of the Highlands of Scotland offers an ideal location for bringing your touring caravan for a perfect holiday.  With only 35 vans maximum, you'll find yourself among a small , friendly group of caravanners, many of whom return year after year. The site fronts on to a wonderful, safe, sandy beach, dolphins can be seen playing in the firth, there are marvellous views across the firth to Dunrobin Castle and, despite the fact that we're on the East coast, fantastic sunsets looking West up the Firth.

An hour's drive from Inverness, Portmahomack makes an ideal base for touring the Highlands - leave your caravan here and make day trips to places like John o'Groats, Kinlochbervie, Ullapool and Gairloch - or pop up to Inverness for a day's shopping or sightseeing.

Or you may find that you prefer simply to stay in the village and relax. There's a very popular golf course in the village, and in addition to two hotels there's the Oystercatcher Restaurant where you'll find that discerning folk travel miles to enjoy the fine food and the poplular cafe in the Carnegie Hall and the Tea Up restaurant in the Golf Clubhouse, at both of which locals and visitors enjoy excellent food at very reasonable prices. Fishing trips can be arranged from the harbour.

Tarbat Discovery Centre ( a mere 200 metres from the Caravan Site) gives visitors a wonderful perspective on the history of this part of Scotland.

The Caravan Site is situated on ground belonging to the adjacent Church and any profits from the site go to their funds. The Church extends a very warm welcome to visitors of any denomination.

The office is CLOSED ON SUNDAYS and no caravans should be moved on to or off the site on Sundays.  Otherwise, we're completely flexible about arrival and departure times.
